A member asked:

I have dealt with bloating for years, and have been told its gas ,and dr gave me some gas relief meds, now years after no pain, bowel is normal, just feel bloated after eating so i try to manage with food, am i at an increased risk for colon cancer?

Not particularly. Bloating is caused by a combination of the air you swallow during feeds and the gas made by bacteria that feed on undigested material in your gut. Some foods likely make you more gassy than others. The issue is a natural one and does not raise your risk level compared to any other person.
