EGD result: Good result in that it would explain any symptoms of stomach pain or heartburn and that it does not suggest potentially serious causes such as a malignancy. The office may be awaiting biopsy results before reporting to you. The antrum is an area of the stomach and gastritis is irritation of the mucosal lining. Follow your doctor's instructions (avoid nsaids, etc) and await the formal report.

Gastritis: Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach lining and is treated with a bland diet, avoidance of alcohol, caffeine and nicotine as well as prescribing a medication like prilosec or nexium (esomeprazole) for several weeks. Stress and irritants like aspirin,NSAIDS like ibuprofen may cause or aggravate gastritis and are to be avoided. Usually a repeat EGD is not needed.
