A few thoughts...: Could be an abscess, could be a bony protrusion, could be fibrous tissue. Have a dentist take a look for a proper diagnosis.

Hard lump: There are a number of things that can cause a hard lump. Infection is one cause but the only way to determine what is causing this is by seeing a dentist.
