Is it normal to see the vallate papillae in a healthy tongue? is it normal they look like swollen red bumps? or is it an indication of something wrong when also having a white coated tongue?

Thrush: A swollen red tongue with a white coating sounds like thrush (yeast infection of the mouth and throat). This is very rare in an adult and is often a sign of another more serious health problem like HIV infection or uncontrolled diabetes. Please, please see your doctor to get checked out!
