I have a dark bruise-like lining on the inside of a molar gum line, i am concerned about this especially because i'm a smoker. what could this be?

See dentist: Check with your dentist. If may be as simple as having a professional cleaning to remove any calculus or stain. If warranted, the dentist may do an oral cancer screen and if anything is suspect, refer you to an oral surgeon or ENT for further evaluation.
