Rota virus vaccine : The rota virus vaccines available currently are very safe with very low risk for intussesception. 5 mos is not late but it should be completed by age 6 mos. I hope that was her 2nd dose of the 2 dose series. I have not seen a single case of inussesception in relation to rota virus vaccine. Good luck.

Rotavirus vaccine: RotaShield, was pulled from the market after 2 years, dye to a slight increase in intussusception risks. This issue has not occurred with RotaTeq or Rotarix vaccines. The 1st dose of either vaccine should be given before 15 weeks of age. Children should receive all doses before 8 months old. Please get your child vaccinated.
