Cysts or swellings : On the floor of the mouth are usually Due to a blockage of the sublingual or submandibular glad. Most of the time these are caused by sialoliths, which are calcium like deposits blocking a salivary duct. Since it's blocked it usually backs up since saliva cannot pass through these areas and cause the swelling. Usually milking, or kneading the area will express the blockage.
