Tough to say: Medications? There are several types of viral hepatitides. There are genetic reasons. Gallbladder dysfunction. Autoimmune causes. It is probably not a serious thing but it needs to be followed by a doctor. If it stays up you need to see a GI physician if your PCP can't figure out the cause.

Normal: If your ALT is normal, I wouldn't worry about it. AST is an enzyme made by other tissues besides the liver, like red blood cells and bone. Your doctor can check other labs to see where the elevation might be coming from.
