Oncology: i want a second opinion on a cancer diagnosis. what exactly do i say to the medical oncologist on board? do i say anything about my want?

Ask for a second: opinion. if you have any concern, ask to see a different oncologist and also ask a different pathologist to examine the slides that were the basis of the diagnosis. Your health is more important than hurting the feelings of the doctor!
