A little low: A rectal temp of 96 in an infant is a bit on the low side. Although infections typically present with HIGH temperature, some present with a LOW one. This situation is unlikely in the face of a well appearing child, but a trip to the pediatrician for reassurance wouldn't be a bad idea.
