Doctor can evaluate: If one is worried about being too thin (too skinny), a primary care doctor is the one to see first. A full check-up, with additional attention to any possible causes of thinness, will be helpful. Some people are naturally thin (which is fine), but others have problems absorbing nutrients (such as in celiac disease), or have hormonal imbalances (such as in hyperthyroidism).
