If you take in: fewer calories than you burn off, over time, you will usually lose weight. The exception is, if you are also building muscle through strength training, your weight might stay the same even if you're losing body fat. Because even vigorously exercising burns relatively few calories more than resting, you must take in fewer calories for a weight loss regimen to be successful. Dr. Anne
