Coma: This is not natural and something must have caused his present state. That said, don't give up - he may well improve over time. Be patient and helpful. Dad may not come back fully to his normal self but is likely to be OK.

Not while in coma: His immediate pre coma period events will likely be lost. Nothing that happened during the coma will not have been recorded into memory. Distant memories will return but may be confused for a period of time.
