Extremely unlikely: Sounds like an aphthous ulcer. Warm salt water rinse 4-5 times/day when possible for the next 4-5 days will help. It may look worse before it gets better. Virus causes this. Syphilis is sexually transmitted and the partner has to have it. Initially any lesion is not painful and is typically in the genital area. Blood test will detect this and tx is antibiotic. Good Luck.
