About 50% of the people your age already have been infected with the virus. The risk of catching it is low, even if you do, oral herpes usually causes no more trouble than occasional cold sores. Wish you good health!

I think you may have a somewhat mild risk. Herpes simplex is transmitted by skin to skin contact even when eruptions may not be present. I'm stunned that someone with a cold sore would kiss another person.

From your description a kiss on the cheek from some one with cold sore.There is risk of contacting Herpes Simplex.Type one is there.Only way you will know if you break out with a cold sore.Some infected people have no syptoms.Once you get infected with Herpes Simplex it is for life and recurrence of cold sores is not that uncommon.Abreva10% Decosenol cream is available over the counter for sores
