Depends on the test: A simple CBC (complete blood count) will pick up nearly all leukemia cases. A CBC is one of the most common blood tests; but others, like serum chemistries would not be informative. Rarely, leukemia cells may stay in the marrow and not be seen on a simple CBC. Still, if this were the cause of bruising and easy bleeding, then a CBC would show low platelets resulting from the diseased marrow.
