A vitamin deficiency and an infection should be considered. An ENT consult to rule out a mass,polyp or local source of bleeding may be helpful. Did she have jaundice? liver function testing and a blood smear analysis? Maintain a healthy balanced diet with sources of iron, vitamins and please follow up with your physician. Watch for signs of fever, jaundice and weight loss.
