Yes for most people: unless you have a wide ridge of bone of your mandible then it will be difficult to get a seal of the denture to your bone What happens is the denture pounds on the bone when eating and you jawbone starts to thin out and disappear The best answer is at least 2 dental implants placed into the bone so your denture can snap into them so the denture won't pound into your bone. It's a painless procedure

Lower dentures: Lower dentures are almost worthless for most patients. They don't fit well and flop around. If you have enough bone, consider getting a few dental implants placed that your lower denture can snap into. Most people have little problem with an upper denture fitting well. Ask your dentist and see what your options are. Whatever you do, don't go to a denture mill type dental office. You will regret it
