White patches: Unusual white patches in the mouth is always a concern especially if it is something that you have recently noticed. It would be prudent to visit your dentist who may choose to refer you to an oral maxillofacial surgeon or oral pathologist to help with a diagnosis.

Maybe: These white patches may be a result of pressure applied by the denture. Your best bet is to see the dentist who placed the crowns and denture to evaluate if there are any spots which need adjusting. Most of the time these white spots will resolve on their own, but sometimes they indicate something more serious occurring. See your dentist for evaluation.

Yes: White patches can be thickened tissue due to wear against it, or cancer. You should see an oral surgeon for an exam. They may do a biopsy. If you are a smoker and / or use alcohol regularly, then your risk factor is much greater. Go now and get checked. If it is oral cancer, the sooner you get it treated, the better your recovery rate and survival rate. It is very treatable.
