How can a stent help with pancreatic cancer?

Decrease symptoms: Placing a stent into a pancreatic or common bile duct for a patient with pancreatic cancer that is obstructing that duct may improve the symptoms of obstruction. Usually done for palliation in non resectable tumor or in preparation for surgery after acute obstruction.
