Mgt: This most likely represents muscular pain. Staying well hydrated and eating potassium rich fruits such as a banana is recommended. I would also suggest wearing cotton clothing and a hat while exercising. If these symptoms persist, an appointment with your PCP is advised.

Muscle "stitch": Certainly sounds like muscular spasm. Dehydration can predispose you to spasm so good hydration is very important. Electrolyte imbalance can also, so replacement with something like Gatorade may help. Sometimes, if you're sweating a lot, salt tablets can help. Also, be sure you warm up for 10 minutes before launching into a full exercise (or jogging) routine - maybe jog at a slow pace initially.
