Maybe (not) . . .: Pre-diabetes is a great term but definitions are rather loose. If checking glucose, best to draw blood after fasting all night long. Normal result should be less than 100. Impaired fasting glucose is 100-125. Diabetes is higher. Or check A1c which gives info re average sugar over past 3 months. Normal is less than 5.7. 5.7-64 is pre-diabetes or at elevated risk. Higher is consistent w/diabetes.
