What cause gout ?

Gout causes: Gout is caused by formation of uric acid crystals building up in the joints due to too much uric acid in the blood. Uric acid crystals trigger a immune-mediated inflammatory reaction, causing pain, swelling and redness of the joints, which is experienced as a gout attack. High levels of uric acid may be due to hereditary reasons for uric acid overproduction, underexcretion, diet and medications.

Elevated uric acid: Uric acid is a breakdown product that builds up in the blood. In people with gout it can be due to the body making too much and/or not excreting it efficiently. There can be many medical reasons for the build up of uric acid. This can lead to the production of monosodium urate crystals that can precipitate in the tissues and joints and cause the gout attack: evaluation and treatment depends.
