Not gout: Heel pain is not gout. Could be a spur, bursitis, achilles tendinitis or plantar fasciitis. Uric acid is the natural end product of purine methabolism.

Heel spur syndrome : Most likely plantar fascitis gout can occur in the ankle but will have a different presentation.
