A member asked:

Does something such as a tumor or fibroid commonly be mistaken as a fetus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Anything is possible: There are certain cases where tumors can abnormally make the same hormone that normally indicates a normal pregnancy. In these situations, you would not have expected findings on ultrasound such as a heart beat or normal growth characteristics seen in fetuses so it would be discovered with a little time.
