Smoke/ breastfeeding: Your baby is exposed to some tobacco products through breast milk and also through residues on your skin and clothes (third-hand smoking) or more directly from smoke (second-hand smoking) if you smoke in the presence of the baby. The short answer to your question is avoid smoking while lactating. Better still, stop smoking all together
