Yes with caution: Hello, The American Academy of Pediatrics has the following recommendation regarding alcohol and breastfeeding: "a woman chooses to have an alcoholic drink, it’s best to do so just after she has nursed or expressed milk rather than before, and allow at least 2 hours per drink before the next breastfeeding or pumping session. Yes, 2 hours: 1 glass of wine while breastfeeding is fine. I recommend not nursing the baby for 2 hours after the drink. In the average adult, one glass of wine will be cleared from your system - blood and breastmilk - in 60-90 minutes. If you need to pump during that time due to engorgement, dump it. If you time the glass just after a feeding and the next feeding is more than 2 hours later, it's ok to nurse.

Probably ok: Everything you eat or drink can travel into your breast milk, so the term"Everything in moderation". A glass of wine should not have any ill affects, but the urge to drink more could have an effect on your baby and cause symptoms such as sleepiness, irritablity, and low blood sugar. if you elect to try some wine ,then not on an empty stomach as it will be more rapidly absorbed with higher levels
