Balance?: A physician will need more background information to help you since there are several diverse causes for dizziness. Based on the suddenness of the event and the maintenance of consciousness, I would wonder if this is an inner ear problem such as labyrinthitis or benign positional vertigo. It is certain that causes (other than these mentioned) can be urgent and so you need to be seen by a doctor.
