Unilateral tongue sx: Key issue is how long this has been going on. Most likely at your age, the symptoms are related to a localized infectious process, perhaps a peritonsillar abscess, with an immune reaction leading the tongue and other lymphoid tissue to respond, close off your tubes, enlarge nodes in your neck and even along your tongue. If persistent, go for exam. Oral cancer rare @22, but not impossible w. HPV

Duration?: Duration of symptoms. See ENT doc or oral surgeon ASAP for assessment. At your age, cancer is unlikely. But symptoms warrant an exam.
