Be alert ! : The bleeding bumps on the side of the tongue can be many things, and so, e of which should be looked at closely.! please see an oral surgeon soon for a thorough history taking and to check it out and if not resolved in couple of weeks, need to have it biopsied, to be safe. Good luck. !

Lingual tonsils: Most likely you are describing the lingual (tongue) tonsils which is on the both sides of the back of your tongue. The lingual tonsil is a small mound of lymph tissue located at the back of the base of the tongue. There are two lingual tonsils in the mouth, one on each side of the tongue. They are composed of lymphatic tissue that functions to assist the immune system in the production of antibod.
