Is depakote a safe medicine? im on a lot of meds,my alt & creatine r sometimes elevated. my psych md@emory wants me try it bc i hav severe bipolar d/o

Depends.: Your psychiatrist is the best person to determine what medications to use given your physical condition and what is safe to use. All medications have side-effects and I believe your psychiatrist is on top of monitoring your ability to tolerate them by taking lab tests.
