Is depakote er safe? i'm taking 500mg at bedtime. is that considered a low dose for someone who is 143lbs? taking it for bipolar 1 disorder.

By it self: Yes. The drug level as well as CBC and LFT should be monitored periodically. Discuss other medications you are taking with prescriber and the possible interactions.
