A member asked:

Could you potentially have periods of happiness during depression?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most depression: Is not continuous. It comes and goes. It is very possible to have periods of happiness during depression. It can help to figure out what you do differently before & during happy times & do that more consistently. We know that it helps to exercise, socialize, actively pursue meaningful goals, practice gratitude, be kind to others, & avoid negative thinking & comparisons.
