Hypoventilation: Hi giulia, if you mean alveolar 'hypo'ventilation, then basically, you dont move enough air in and out of your lungs while you sleep. This can be caused by obesity, opiate drugs, neuromuscular problems and COPD. Sleep medicine doctors usually manage the treatment. However, a pulmonologist or neurologist certified in sleep medicine can as well. Treatment can be a bipap machine to wear at night.
