A member asked:

Is coughing up a tinge of blood a side effect of nasonex (mometasone)? just finished 2 rounds of antbiotics for infection. used nasonex (mometasone) for fluid in ear.

Unlikely but possibl: Nasonex (mometasone) may cause nosebleeds in a small % of the patients especially with improper technique (aiming towards the center instead of the sides). Thus post-nasal drainage may produce blood-streaked mucus. On the other hand, it is unusual to have blood-tinged sputum from it. Sinusitis can also cause bleeding but again not a common issue. Talk to your doc if the problem persists for more than a week.
