No: Nasonex (mometasone) works for rhinitis symptoms but has been shown to have no effects in the outcome of middle ear effusion. Effusion might increase the risk of getting middle ear infection. It may take several months before the fluid go away. Systemic corticosteroid may hasten the drainage.
