Here are some ...: Biaxin, (clarithromycin) a macrolide antibiotic, has been used widely for treating peptic ulcer, but it is definitely not recommended as the first line antibiotics for UTI, for which there is a long list of effective antibiotics to eliminate its offending bacteria. If you're sure of UTI from recurrent experience, you may use antibiotics without UA -/+ U-culture; if new, do UA -/+ U-culture before antibiotics.
