I wonder why you are on clarithromycin for tonsillitis? Your body is able to fight infection along with antibiotics and if you are feeling better with less pain and redness you may want to allow the body immunity to finish rather than another doctor visit; otherwise see your doctor again. I mean not completely gone may resolve without antibiotics if there is significant improvement.

Yes. Go back. Clarithromycin might not have cleared the tonsillitis and you may require a different treatment.There are other sources of big tonsils that are more rare, Your Doctor will be able to notice now if is there an abscess or concretion ,etc. causing it to be large.
