A member asked:

I had a lumbar puncture and the nurse caught the nerve twice. if i have an epidural in the future will this affect my nerves or anything?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lumbar puncture: This is unclear. An LP should not be done near any nerve root, but below the point at which the spinal cord ends in the subarachnoid space, specifically so that there is no damage done. In any event, if you have recovered it is doubtful that this will interfere with a future epidural should you need one. Good luck.
