If after a lumbar epidural inj, some of the anesthetic coated nerve to gut paralyzing it, can something be injected to flush out epidural space of spi?

Should not paralyze: The epidural steroid should not "cut" or cause paralysis. Saline is sometimes added to the solution which can act to "wash out" the epidural space.

No: Their is nothing that can wash out the medication. That being said, the actual anesthetic should wear off in a day or so at most. The anesthetic, usually Lidocaine or marcaine, are very short term. If its been a long time since the injection, it is most likely not the medication any more and other possibilities should be investigated.

No: The local anesthetic can not be flushed out but will be cleared out by blood flow. It is temporary and should resolve within a fraction of an hour to up several hours depending on the drug used.
