Clenching: See a dentist that treats TMJ. You can't treat yourself. Your clenching can be causing you pain. You may be able to decrease your clenchng by being aware of this habit during the daytime but you will not be able to control it during sleep. See a dentist.

TMJ problem: Jaw pain, clicking and bruxism (clenching) can result in serious jaw joint problems. See TMJ expert. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
