There are: a number of Over The Counter (OTC) preparations for this condition which is due to extreme dryness and is common in people who must wash there hands frequently! These are advertised available in "Country Stores" and in many Drug stores. LANOLIN is the major ingredient! Hope this helps! Dr Z

Allergy?: Have you been in contact with anything new or to a greater than usual lately? For instance, handling more paperwork, using new chemicals or cleaning supplies or cosmetics? These things can dry out your fingertips and cause a contact dermatitis-type reaction. Perhaps it's just dry weather. Try a lotion with glycerin or mineral oil and cover hands with cotton gloves at night.
