Maybe a factor: While it is common to have pelvic pain associated with ovulation, low back pain is less so. Most likely it is a coincidence, and you have done something to strain your back. The dry skin, on the other hand, can be associated with what is called a luteal phase defect resulting in a low progesterone level. Regulation of hormones, typically with birth control pills, may be helpful. Good wishes:)
