Abscess: Pain, swelling, redness and fever are classic signs of an infection. Any suspicion of infection should be evaluated asap as they can spread and cause serious complications including death (although rare). Infection or or abscess, pain or not, when was your last dental exam? and certainly see a dentist right away for an evaluation.

Swelling and pain: Assuming you have a bad upper tooth, it will first affect the area immediately adjacent to the offending tooth. Over time, abscesses sometimes expand and can get quite large. If it is from a lower tooth and now spreading to a different jaw, you have a dental emergency that requires immediate treatment. Sometimes they drain and remain pain-free but they still require treatment.

Its already there: By definition once a tooth abscesses the infection is now in the jaw bone. This problem will not go away without treatment. Signs that it needs immediate attention would be visible swelling of the face, fever, difficulty swallowing/ speaking, or malaise.

May include...: ...pain, swelling, sinusitis, localized warmth, blurry vision, chills, fever, erratic heart beat, malfunctioning kidneys, airway compromise, etc. an abscess is an infection, and if left untreated can be life threatening. Call your Dentist, an Endodontist (root canal specialist), or Oral Surgeon immediately. Small dental problems are easier and cheaper to treat than large ones.

Pain and swelling: When a tooth abscesses the bone is being digested by bacteria. Bone will be lost and the area becomes soft to the touch, then will swell. Sometimes the area will drain through the bone and gum tissue. Pressure will build and your body will try to push the tooth down and out of your mouth making it painful to bite on the tooth at the root of the tooth .

Abscess: If you have swelling, pain, bad taste then see a dentist ASAP. If you have any concerns about having an abscess do not wait for it to get worse before you get it treated. An abscess is an active infection. See a dentisT ASAP, like today.

Tooth Abscess Sympts: Good day; Usually a dental abscess results from an infected tooth or the surrounding gingival tissue(gum). Symptoms vary from swelling, pain, or/ and discharge of puss. On occasion the swelling increases in size and becomes a cellulitis. Could have fever and fair amount of swelling. I've seen infections interfere with vision or open and start to drain facially. See you dentist ASAP!

They are good: A tooth abcess that is from within a non-vital tooth is an infection IN THE JAWBONE at the tip of the tooth where there nerve and blood vessel exit. Symptoms are pain to biting, swelling and sometimes pus discharge from an opening. This is a condition for which you should seek treatment as soon as you can. Don't let it get worse.

Pain and swelling: abscess is a pus pocket that can affect the sinus area of the upper jaw as well as inflame the lining of the tooth that holds the tooth in the socket. Best to visit a dentist for evaluation and treatment as these rarely improve with time

Pain and swelling: Pain and swelling in upper jaw and face can be signs of a spreading infection. If you have these symptoms see a dentist right away, don't put it off, the problem will only get worse without adequate care.
