A member asked:

Help please! is cervical cancer fatal if undiagnosed until symptoms show?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not always...: The likelihood of curing cervical cancer (or any cancer) is generally better if the cancer is discovered "earlier" than "later". The most important prognosticator for cervical cancer is stage/extent. If cancer is confined to the cervix, then cure is likely. Cancers can be "symptomatic" with bleeding and still be cured. If there is spread to other organs, cure may be possible with chemotherapy.
