A member asked:

Do you recommend tonsillectomy vs. coblation? is the latter successful with a less invasive approach? do most insurances cover either?

The coblation way: is still a removal of the tonsil, but uses radio frequency and saline instead of surgical steel. It has a track record of being easier to recover from. One center claims children who have it on Friday can be back in school on Monday. it's best to discuss the options with your surgeon. Not every doctor is going to offer coblation tonsillectomy.
