Bio

Jon Ahrendsen received his undergraduate & MD from the University of Iowa in 1978 & 1982. He completed his residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines and has been in Clarion, Iowa since 1985. He was the family practice representative for the Iowa Lactation Task Force from 1995-1999. He was a Medical Associate of La Leche League International, is a FAA and DOT Medical Examiner, a MAPS(Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs) doctor, the Medical Director of Gateway Hospice of Clarion & the Wright Co. Medical Examiner. In 2000, Dr. Ahrendsen took a 10 mo. working sabbatical at the Ceduna-Konniba Aboriginal Health Clinic in South Australia. He also went to La Paz Mexico & took an 8-wk Medical Immersion Spanish Course. 80% of his clinical work now is with ADHD and ASD.
