Thrush: This sounds like a common fungal infection of the tongue called candidiasis or thrush. Taking any antibiotics while you were hospitalized to prevent infection could have caused this to happen. It is not serious just rinse your mouth with mix of peroxide, salt, and listerine if it doesn't get better in a few days get a prescription from your doctor.

Scab: You will develop a scab over the area where your tonsils were removed. It will be moist because of your mouth. You should make sure it is not thrush (yeast in the mouth). Make sure your tell your surgeon about this.
