A member asked:

My sister is 19. she saw 2 days ago a small tongue, looks like epiglottis on back of her tongue. not bothering, no pain. will it go itself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: It stays there forever. She was born with it. The epiglottis covers the trachea (covers the hole leading to the lungs) so that she doesn't choke when swallowing. In kids, it is easier to see. It is a bit harder to see in adults, but if she is 19 years old and her epiglottis is easily seen, she'll likely be that way forever.
