A member asked:

I have a viral ear infection with fluid build up. i can't hear out of my right ear and it feels like it might burst! anyway to relieve this pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Decongestants can be helpful to dry up some of the fluid production. Oral pain medication can be helpful to relieve the pain such as Tylenol (acetaminophen) or motrin. Nasal sprays such as Flonase or nasocort can help with the congestion in your nose to help relieve pressure in the ear since the nasal and ear passages are all connected.
